Trackman 4 Coming Soon to 3 Hammers Academy
Coming in October 2016 to the newly refurbished 3 Hammers Golf Academy is the Trackman 4 dual radar technology system. The most comprehensive data collecting and tracking system for golf.
Golf practice and player development is going through a period of tremendous change, and technology is a central component in that transformation. The mapping of swing DNA is now possible, as is the quantification and comparison of swing feel vs. real. Technology also empowers Trackman, you and us to monitor granular swing changes over time. These are just a few, compelling examples of how to unleash your potential more effectively and allow us to build your game and development.
With TrackMan, you have all those tools to jump ahead. From groundbreaking club and ball tracking golf radar systems to the best performance enhancing software available in the industry today. We are really excited to getting this in the 3 Hammers Academy studio for you all.
With major players in the game relying and using Trackman’s precision and reliability its easy to see from the amount of data collected why this system is top of the game. It will track the full trajectory of any shot from the smallest of pitches to 400 yard drives pinpointing the accuracy landing point to within 1 foot at 100 yards. It also delivers your shots 3D trajectory with 26 impact and ball flight parameters in real time and delivered within 1 second. Here a few examples of the parameter readings within Trackman 4.
Smash factor relates to the amount of energy transferred form the club head to the golf ball, the higher the smash, the better the energy transfer. With a driver you would aiming for around 1.50 which means for a 100mph club speed the ball speed would be 150mph. The more loftier clubs would have a lower smash factor so for example a pitching wedge would have a 1.25 so you can read the expectancy already from the numbers. Trackman suggests a driver example that a smash factor of 1.40 to 1.50 could be the difference in 20 yards even if the golf swing is at the same 100mph rate.
The angle the ball takes off off relative the ground and is highly correlated with another Trackman feature Dynamic loft. Launch angle will always be a little less than dynamic loft, but will have a similar value. Along with ball speed this a primary component to determining the height and distance of your shot. All golfers should be fitted to achieve the optimal balance of launch angle and spin rate based on their club and ball speed.
Your impact to the golf ball is the biggest factor in how far the ball actually carries. Ball speed is created by club speed and impact, bad impact such as shots hit on the toe or heel will reduce the potential ball speed. Gaining 1mph of ball speed can increase your driver distance by up to 2 yards.
Your attack angle! How the shaft of the club bends, how you release the club head, whether the club face is open or closed on the clubs path, and where you contact the ball on the club head will all have an effect on dynamic loft.
Creating your unique dynamic loft is important to creating optimal trajectory and maximising carry, to much dynamic loft can send your ball too high into the air and reduce distance where as too little can send the ball too low and cause the ball to roll excessively on landing making to difficult to judge distance.
These are just a few of the factors along with Club speed, Spin rate, Attack angle, Carry, Club path, Face angle and more that Trackman 4 can help with developing your game and technique to ultimately bring that score down and a more comfortable game all round.
